The Great London Hummus Showdown: The Houmoffs

If you had told me at the start of the week that I would voluntarily consume my body weight in chickpeas and fluffy flatbread in a single evening, I’d have said… yeah, okay, that actually sounds exactly like me.
This week, I scored a ticket to HOUMOFFS, an absolute legendary showdown hosted over at Brother Marcus's Victoria restaurant. The premise was simple but deadly serious: 10 of London’s absolute finest restaurants went head-to-head in a culinary battle royale to crown the ultimate king of hummus.
The competition was split into two high-stakes rounds. First up: the Classic Segment, where everyone had to perfect the basics-smoothness, tahini ratios, and garlic levels were judged to microscopic standards. Then came the Signature Segment, where the chefs completely took off the gloves. We saw everything from wild ingredient fusions to mind-blowing toppings that stretched the very definition of what hummus can be - think candied chunks of mango and black garlic.
Now, I’m a professional, so my lips are completely sealed, I won't reveal who took home the coveted trophies. You’ll just have to keep an eye on the London foodie grapevine for that!
But what I can tell you is that the event was an absolute masterclass in great vibes. The energy was electric, the music was pumping, and I ate more incredible hummus and warm pitta bread than I ever could have dreamt of. Honestly, my hummus standards have been permanently ruined in the best way possible.
